Although I haven't been sewing much in the last month, I have received some lovely hexies from the forum swap. I received a framed hexie made of tiny hexies from Ondrea for my oriental collection,lovely: and 2 beautiful dotty flowers from Joanne, I love the colours, very summery when the weather here is more often autumn-like despite being July. and a delicate pink one from Penny: This week, I also sent - late - my hexie flower to Elly, her theme is black centre and bright petals: If you are still wondering whether to join the "Inchy Hexie Flower Swap" that I told you about here , this post will have convinced you! The sun is shining today, it is probably our second real summer day in July... Finally, I made my braid for Pink Stitches from the Bee Europa 2011. I absolutely love the fabric she has chosen and I was lucky enough to see from close and work with. I think I will find it very difficult to resist the temptation but what to go for when you don't have a chosen project? A charm pack, a jelly roll, a layer cake? Decision, decision... I have just discovered the "Inchie Hexagon Flower swap" held by Jane on this blog . Although registration is currently closed, Jane has very nicely accepted me to join from August onwards and she is looking for 3 more "hex.a.cul.tur.ist" to join in the fun. So if you have ever wanted to join a swap for hexagon flowers, now is your time, but we quick as August is fast approaching. Before the end of term, Big Boy school organised a fundraising event and asked for donation of fairy cakes so I did sum up a bit of energy and baked a few cakes for them. They turned out great and yummy (I had kept a few for us so we could have a taste as well!) I made some all chocolate cupcakes and some vanilla "ice cream" cupcakes (with no ice cream though) Enjoy the pictures! Celine

Finally I have found some energy to post about what I have been up to in the last month (not much compare to normal). At least, a blog post can be created in several small sessions on the computer and saved for later when it is all completed which makes it easier for me at the moment. Last Friday was the end of the school year here - at long last! -  so I managed to make 2 gifts for Big Boy's teacher and teacher assistant. I choose a project which wasn't too ambitious owing to my current energy level so I went for cosmetic bags made with squares using the Japanese folding technique. I had already used the same technique a few years bag to make a bag for our car TV set with an old pair of jeans. You can see the pictures here  and here . I did all the sewing by hand so I could do it while sitting in a chair and resting. I used 2 sets of fabrics both with a blue theme. It was nice to make and I like how it turned out. I used 11cm squares and 18 cm circles and the finished

Well I have been off work since I last posted and still feel very tired with very low energy levels so I haven't done very much at all. Just getting through the day seems to be enough at the moment. I haven't put much weight on either even though my belly is visibly growing! I am off for another few weeks now so hopefully I should finally recover and be able to get back into my normal *crazy* routine of work, kids and the rest.
