October Furtle

Well, compared to last month I have at least something to report. Whether my sew-jo is back, the question remains open... I eased back into sewing by fixing the sleeve of a blouse I made last year that had become undone. Didn't take long, probably took longer to decide to finally tackle it! Next on my list was to unpick and redo the hem of my Aquarius dress, still not perfect but much better now. I still haven't taken pictures with the dress and now winter has come I'm not sure when I'll do it! I also finally cut the binding for my Impromptu quilt. It's on and needs to be hand sewn, I'm probably half way through now.  I also stich a tiny little bit on my Christmas cross stitch, hopefully more soon and I attached 1 DJ block to another 2, all while travelling to Lisbon for a work conference.  And finally I cut 3 PJs and sew 2! I nearly forgot, I also went to a fabric fair and bought a few bits and pieces, hoping to make some Christmas presents... Linking to Octobe

Winter PJs

I had to move most of my dressmaking fabric stash recently as well as my boxes of leftover which I've discovered got wet during one of the cellar flooding... sadly some of the pieces now have stains but I've washed most of them now and went through them to work out what I should get rid off.  I found leftover jersey pieces from PJs I made to my eldest daughter about 5 years ago, too childish for her now but I thought I'd try to make a PJ for her sister (who is older than she was at the time!).    Cutting the 2 pairs of PJs out of the leftovers was quite a challenge but I got most pieces out, but a few. I complimented the pattern pieces with a piece of leftover solid black which I found in the same box too.  I've only managed to sew one of the 2 I cut earlier in the month.  She's slept in her new PJ once and told me it had a hole at the back of the trousers. When I looked closely, I realised the fabric was damaged there and had lots of tiny holes that must have te

October goals

So after a month with no sewing at all, I am really wondering whether it is even worth trying to make a list for this month. Will I have any sewing time, will I have any energy or motivation to create anything? I guess I could just copy and paste last month's post or maybe it needs to change a little to sparkle some creativity. Qui lting 1 .  Impromptu quilt - I have cheated with this one by trimming it and putting on the bed, without the binding so we have been enjoying it already but it would be so very nice to finish it properly.... I should really at least cut the binding and sew it on, I will keep it as  my   One monthly goal 2.  Dear Jane - hoping to finish row E, all the blocks are cut now. 3. Farmer's Wife - maybe I can pick this one up and make more blocks.  Dressmaking 1 .  Aquarius dress - this one was "finished" for my daughter's Communion in June but needed some fixing so I have unpicked the hem and fixed the rest. I would really like to finish the he
