Not much to report really

Weather has been so nice lately that I haven't made much progress on my current projects really. We had a very nice week-end with our friends enjoying the sun and each others company while the kids enjoyed the paddling pool in the garden. Went for a stroll in Cambridge on Sunday but it was very busy!

I have cut a few more pieces for the for the mystery quilt from the Chain-A-Spool group. I have cut all the scrap pieces, now need to cut the background and the accent fabric. The instructions for next step has already been published so I will be able to start sewing as soon as I have my fabric cut!

Maybe I would better catch up with boring housework if I want to try to find a little bit of free time to play with fabric!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
