Bee Europa 2011

Amelie had asked us to make some spider web blocks with some selvage strips and a light grey fabric. I had enough fabric to make 8 triangles making a whole block:

And finally this last month of the Bee is my turn. I've asked my fellow bee members to make me blocks to help me complete a Maisy quilt for Miss Strawberry Shortcake. I have sent them all an image of Maisy and some scraps to make a square block with the image and an Irish Chain block. I want to make a quilt inspired by the Ghastlie quilt that Kim made last year.
I can't wait to get the blocks back and make the counting quilt.

    I have been thinking of doing a spiderweb for sometime and now seeing this one I am definitely going to do a spiderweb. They look so effective.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
