New Year, new start(s)

Image
Of course, there are loads of new at this time of year and lots of energy for everything... and sometimes it last, sometimes it doesn't.... Temptation to start new projects is just so high and I am terrible at resisting.... So I have embraced the New Year with a wishlist longer than I can ever imagine fulfilling, but then dreaming is allowed, isn't it? Aside to quilting and sewing, I have started the annual declutter and I am sure I will give up at some point, I am trying to stick to it for as long as possible. What is done, is done! I noticed that Shelly is running a Studio Organising Challenge over the whole year. Well my sewing area is in dear need of organising.... I had started quite well with my fabric last year but there is still so much more to do. This week is all about paper clutter and I must say I have already thrown away loads since reading her blog! I am also trying to stick to exercise and I have started to try to start my day with yoga, following Adrienn...

The 100 Day Challenge

Image
Have you seen this lovely idea that Jen has just launched on her blog? A new challenge for the next 100 days. I like the idea of having a short enough timeframe that I need to get on with it, but long enough so I can maybe achieve something, what with the kids birthdays coming up? Let's try at least ;-) So here is my list of 3, I hope you will cheer me up along the way ;-) 1. Catch up with my bee blocks (I am behind on more than one bee so I'd like to catch up and stay on time afterwards) 2. HKQAL -  I am only at the cutting stage (well I have started some of the cutting, let's see how far I can get...) 3. A new bag for me Linking to Jen's 100 Day Challenge , will you play along? Celine

Finish Along Q4 and end of year!

Image
So another year is over and the last quarter has been very very busy. I guess I anticipated it was going to be by cutting down my list to 15 instead of the usual 20 I list. There was a lot of work, a lot of travel and plenty of events to keep us busy. So of course, the list of 15 was not achievable (!) but I am so happy that I managed to finish the 2 gifts I wanted to make on time, and a little bit more! 1. #charmpions quilt for my friends' 40th - finished and gifted 2.  M new quilt - blocks are ready to be put together in a quilt -  no progress 3. Farmer's girl vintage quilt for Soo's retirement - finished and gifted 4.   Star Plus quilt - finished 5. September in the Hexagons - trimmed, need binding 6.  Cat bag as a Christmas present similar to the one I made 2 years ago - not started 7.    X string quilt - 2 blocks needed to finish the top - no progress 8.  Mr Snowmen cushion - finished 9...

Happy New Year!

A new Year is beginning, 2016 has just started and I wish you all a healthy, happy and creative year! 2016 Happy New Year! To start the New Year I will share my 2016 goals with you, but if I write them, do I have to keep them? ;-) I never make New Year's resolutions because I can't seem to keep them.... One thing I would really like to manage this year is to relax more and be less stressed, let's hope! Otherwise, of course my goals for 2016 which involves fabric and thread are far too many to be realistic (!) but let's just list the ones I would really love to achieve: 1. HKQAL for my youngest 2. Quilt for M 3. Custom cushions 4. some  clothes sewing (I have patterns, fabric and an overlocker just for that) 5. I am joining in Cheryl for the Best of 2015 linky party, what a fun idea! Here are my 5 picks for this year: Post with most views was my little Snowman according to Blogger: My oldest UFO was my Lighthouse Quilt My favorite project has to be my Once Upon a Time Sampler My favorite WIP, difficult choice where there a few but just now it has to be another cross-stitch project A very merry Christmas Town that has progressed well in the last few days My favourite selfish sewing will be the Star Plus quilt I finished earlier this month, for us!
