Christmas Block-a-thon

Although it is warm-ish around here, it is so grey that it certainly feels like Christmas is coming soon. WHERE is the summer? Anyway, a good way of keeping busy INDOORS with all the rain, is to join the just started Christmas Block-a-Thon organised by Free Spirit and Rowan.
The first block has been released last Monday and the second block is out today. Pop over to Free Spirit blog for the instructions on how to make the blocks.
I have just completed the first block: Tinsel

I am using a Fat Quarter bundles I bought last year. It is Let it Snow by RJR fabric
and the background is ... Snow by Kona Solids of course.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Michele at the Quilting Gallery is organising a blog hop for the 4th anniversary of her site . If you don't know the quilting gallery yet, you need to hop over there and have a look around, there is plenty to browse at. Every week, there is a themed-contest. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
