June hexies

I don't know where June disappeared really ... I have been caught out and I am behind on some of the swaps I am in now, better catch up quickly....
Last week, I finished my 2 hexie flowers for Lara on the Inchy Hexie Swap, she asked for red and purple so I made her a red one with a "London" by Makower fabric for the center. June was the month of the Jubilee celebrations here in England so I *had* to have a crown! Well I hope my flowers fit in Lara's garden.

And I also made this framed hexie for Kim which I was supposed to send her in May. I am really behind with this swap. I thought that a girl can never have too many handbags, I hope she likes this one.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
