A puzzle

My stars for the [3x6] Sampler Quilt Mini Bee are due out of my house by next Monday and of course none is ready yet. I picked a design a little while ago but haven't found a pattern for it so I decided to drew my own (with a pen and a ruler as I don't have a fancy program to do that for me). I cut the pieces of fabrics for my test block this week-end

but I was scared to try to start sewing them. Anyway I took the plunge last night and I am pleased at how it has all turned out.

OK it isn't perfect but not bad for a test block I think. Now I need to go and sew 6 variations of my star.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
