Hand sewing week-end

I didn't managed to get to my sewing machine this week-end but I did take some time out of the sorting, shopping, cleaning, planning etc for a little hand sewing. And that was a good start for the month as I finished my late flowers for January for Simone

and also my hexie block for January for Susan with some gorgeous Liberty

3 blocks for this month 350-blocks project, that's a good start but I doubt I will be keeping up the pace!

    oh my, I too have been sewing hexies this weekend, both brights and Liberty and both for myself and others

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
