Swap galore and teachers' gifts too

There was lots on my list this month. First the children were breaking up for school on 17 July so I made some teachers' gifts. And even if every year I promise myself I will be organised and won't finish them just the night before....well it always end up being a mad rush the night before. So I made 3 open wide pouch from Noodle Head pattern and tutorial that the kiddies gifted to their teachers:
This was my choice for A lovely Year of finishes

I also made a pencil case to Big Boy who needed one for his roll-over day to Middle School. I used a pattern by Ayumills in her Patchwork Please book and lovely Diary of a Wimpy Kid fabric. He loved it!

And then there were the swaps. Yes plural because I am a swap addict :-) and ended signing up for (too) many. The first to go out was the round 2 of It's so Kawaii swap. I don't know if my partner has received yet but I hope she liked it. I made a little embroidery from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, which I loved and could have easily kept
and a Disney pouch because she likes Disney

Next swap on the list was the one-hour basket from Kelly's tutorial swap that I made for Allison with a little open wide pouch too

And finally the hand-pieced mini swap. This one of course was very slow to get to completion because of the hand sewing but it was the perfect project for on the go sewing during our long car journey. I used a pattern by Jen Kingwell from her book Quilt Lovely
Although I did all the piecing by hand, I quilted on my machine because it would have taken me forever to hand quilt as much as I wanted to and also it works better for me!
And this post covers a grand total of 9 OPAMs, a productive month indeed!
Linking to Whoop Whoop Friday and Q3 Finish Along as I have covered items # 2,3, 4 and 5.

  2. I love all your finishes. I've pulled back on swaps as I'm struggling to find time to make anything for me or the family. I think I've 6 to finish for this year, the last being for November. I'm not signing up for anymore this year

  4. I do hope I get drawn to be your swap partner some time. As the recipient, though of course it would be fun to make for you too. Everybody's posts and ig posts for the hand made swap have been fantastic.
