January in review

Wow, the first month of the year is over and although I started well, having time to sew every night, it didn't last long. Anyway I managed a few bits and pieces and some finishes too!
Hoping for finish
1. Dance bag for A - have gone as far as cutting the fabric - no progress
2. Dance bag for C - not started but it would be good to finish it at the same time as the other one more or less - no progress
3. Colour Companions cushions - I have all I need to finish these ones! This will be my One monthly goal again - done

2. Gipsy Wife - lots of catch up needed here - little progress here!

4. Farmer's Wife 1930 - I have 14 blocks made so far and there is a new sew-along starting organised by Angie. - 5 blocks completed this month (instead of the 10 of sew-along!)

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. That was until I remembered a long forgotten UFO that was laying in a plastic bag in my cupboard. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Michele at the Quilting Gallery is organising a blog hop for the 4th anniversary of her site . Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
