Swap received

I received some lovely gifts while I was away. First I got Ondrea's gorgeous framed hexie. I absolutely love it. She has embroidered the Japanese character for the 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Winter and Autumn (starting from the top and going clockwise).


Then I got Linda's tuffet (pincushion). She said it made her smile to sew it and I fully understand why. I received it on my first day back at work after the holidays and after my dentist appointment so that was I needed. Something sweet and fun to bring a smile to my face!

Thanks ladies for such beautiful work!
And I should show you soon what I worked on while away...

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
