Simply Solids Fat Quarters Swap
Hi all! Rachel from Sew Happily Ever After and Erin from Sew at Home Mummy have decided to organise a fat quarter swap in honour of our upcoming Bee, Simply Solids: a modern {bee}. And because swapping with the US when you are not in the US can be difficult with postage costs, I have proposed to run the UK/Mainland Europe chapter for the swap.
The Bee has international/regional groupings, and Erin is still looking to fill the Mainland Europe and Australasia groupings...but she is still accepting applications from all regions until December 31, 2012 here.
Now for the Swap. The swap is open to everyone, regardless of whether you are taking part in the Bee or not.
Here are the rules.
Please read the rules carefully, and only commit to signing up if you know you'll be able to take part.
1. Only quilting quality, solid coloured cottons will be accepted. No blenders, etc. allowed. If your package does not contain high-quality cotton, it will be returned to you. An example of high quality would be Bella, Kona, Connecting Threads brands, LQS homespun-high quality cotton, etc.
2. Each person will be assigned one solid colour, and will be responsible for submitting 8 fat quarters, measuring at least 18" x 21", by mail to me. For example, if you are assigned the colour 'red', your 8 fat quarters of red cotton may be all the same shade, or multiple shades of red, you decide. If you would like to purchase fabric online and send it straight to me, I will cut it for you and post it back. You can pay me via paypal for the shipping and envelope. Please contact me directly if you would like to do this.
3. This is important: when you mail your package of FQs to us, you must include a self addressed envelope with stamps for your return package if you are in the UK. If you are outside of the UK and can't get some UK stamps, you can send me a self-addressed envelope and pay me the shipping costs via paypal. If you do not, you won't receive a package back... we are not responsible for shipping costs back to you.
4. IMPORTANT DATES:
January 5 2013: Deadline for Sign-up for swap
January 9 2013: Colour assignments emailed out
January 31 2013: Deadline for mailing/submitting FQs to me
February 15 2013: (approximately, maybe sooner) FQs sent back to group
5. The speed at which this swap will occur depends on those submitting fabrics - the sooner the group submits their fabrics, the sooner you all get your packages back!
6. Updates of the swap will be posted here
Edited to add: Justine at Simply Solids has agreed to help us with the swap and a special discount code will be sent to all the participants. Yeah! Thank you Justine!
Are you ready to swap?? Yippee! Fill out the form below! SORRY the swap is now closed!
Come and play with me and let's have fun!
