May Furtle

 Well, what can I say? Time has escaped me and my sew-jo has completely disappeared so I've done hardly nothing this month... too much "life" going on to find time for anything else.

I started a night dress, but not with my favourite pattern, that I still can't find despite tidying my sewing area.... despite being a very easy and quick sew, it's not yet finished. 


I finished Dear Jane block F1 (no sashing yet) and blocks #16 & #17 for Modern City Scape for a total of 3 blocks

And a few bits to help out on some art projects for an exhibition but this is it really, nearly nothing...

    Any progress is good and gets you closer to a finish - well, I keep telling myself that as I wonder when the socks I started in April will have their ‘they’re finished’ photo taken, anyway! Thanks for Furtling, I hope life is less life-y this month.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. That was until I remembered a long forgotten UFO that was laying in a plastic bag in my cupboard. Little more progress

  We are back from pour holidays in Canada and the normal rush of work/kids/house is un full speed again...  Our trip in Canada was really nice, and although I was going to make it to a quilting shop or even a craft store, none of that happened! We visited Toronto and the Niagara Falls and then moved on to Québec for a little tour. Lots of lovely sights and a great encounter with whales and black bears! Holidays has also meant hand sewing as you might have seen in my previous posts and with that I managed 2 more blocks for the Mischief quilt, a yellow and a green.  I've been briefly looking for block(s) I made before but I had only made one which has been stained it seems when the basement got flooded... Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
