I managed to get to 17 blocks last month but I am trying to keep the momentum going and finish the top before I bury it again under a big pile of UFO. So I finished 2 more blocks and modified one I made wrong before and hadn't even noticed! So this is take 2 on Turnstile (13)  17 - Cross Angle  and 20 - Confetti I now have 19 blocks for the quilt top, I need 6 more to be able to finish the top. And that gives me 2 blocks for March. Let's hope March brings us Spring. It has been a long and COLD winter here, we hadn't had so much cold for a while and this week has been particularly cold. It is coming from Siberia apparently, well I can believe it. We even seen some snowflakes this week. On the sewing front, I am not sure how much I can plan but I have a sewing day mid-month for which I will as usual have very high expectations! I am undecided as to which project I will take with me but hoping to make the most of a full uninterrupted day at my sewing machine. Hoping for finish 1.  Dance bag for A - have gone as far as cutting the fabric.  This will be my  One monthly goal   2. February is a short month of course and a busy one in our family for birthdays... so I always end up having little time to sew in the end. Plus work is really busy at the moment so unfortunately, sewing time has been really rare this month and I haven't achieved much... bu I have a new dress! The good think about signing up for some challenges is that it forces me to follow through. And a UFO challenge can not be a bad thing when I have so many. My challenge for this (short) month from APQS UFO challenge is to complete or at least work on my abandoned Modern HST quilt. I have half of the blocks done (I did 1-12 more or less in time) and then completely fell off the train... I found my fabric again (I must admit I had to look for it a little) and started working on it finally at the beginning of the month. And then on and off again during the month, little by little... In the end I only completed 3 blocks, but I guess that's better than nothing... After a little unpicking, I finally completed block 13 - Turnstile 14 -  Introspection 15 - Windmill 16 - Whirly-gig - this one is wonky.... but finished! One more lonely block for the Farmer's Wife quilt, which means I am about to lose the race again.... I completed 15 Blossom. I now have all the blocks 1-16 but of course I need to get going... and pretty fast too. Celine

It has taken me nearly a year.... I made my Moneta dress last year in February and stashed quite a few jersey afterwards to make more but of course, that didn't happen so when a sew-along came on Facebook to make a Miss Ruby Tuesday Dress by 1 Puddle Lane in a week (!), yes I know ... one week, I thought it would be good to join so I would have a new dress by the first week-end of February. Plus I already had a few jersey to choose from! I started well, printing the pattern on day one, cutting the muslin on day 2 and then work got in the way I had completely fell off the track. I tried to catch up last week-end but that just never happened... So this week I decided to try and go little steps at a time. I managed to make the neckline and it came out so nice, I was really happy! I was dreading it I must admit. Lent started early this year and February is a busy month in our house for birthdays. So I have been baking for the birthdays. But I can't say that the baking has taken me away from the sewing, it is more work that has been so busy that I have hardly had time to sit at my machine and sew...  First of all was my middle daughter 9th birthday just before Lent. She went to school with cakes before half-term and then had a party and a "space theme" cakes with cupcakes to give away. And then this week-end is the turn of our youngest, whose official birthday is coming up. She is born on Christmas day so she has an official day in February to celebrate! She is a big Paddington fan so we tried a Paddington cake for her! And of course, there is more to come still. Celine
