Hexagon quilt along

Have you seen this? For all you hexie-fans another way to make hexagon blocks. I had ordered a scrap bag of Moda fabric, which had about 2.5 strips so I am going to use this fabric to join the quilt-along. I sew the strips together yesterday, need to cut them out now. More report on my progress soon hopefully.

    I have seen it, and some of the quilts are turning out so beautifully!
    I didn't know of this quiltalong, when I started my niece's quilt, but I used the same idea. I need to finish that quilt and start hand-quilting it!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
