ebook review - Log Cabin

A little over a week ago I received a nice email from Fons and Porter asking me if I would review one of their ebook. I was surprised and flattered I must say! When I read further and realised that the ebook was called Log Cabin Quilts,
I decided to jump at the opportunity. Log cabin has always been one of my favourite blocks, maybe because this is the first patchwork block I have discovered. The ebook is available for free on the Fons and Porter website http://www.fonsandporter.com/landing/free-log-cabin-quilt-patterns so I encourage you all to go and download it. Your own Christmas present and for free too!
The book presents 3 styles of Log Cabin: traditional,
courthouse
and chevron.
The ebook is 24 pages long and is packed with information and pictures. Lots of very useful tips as well to help you along. It is very pleasant to flick through.
For each style, there is a picture of an antique quilt and a modern version,
tables to make the blocks/quilts you own size and also different settings options.
The booklet gives complete instructions to make full size quilts including the quilt above which is FQ friendly.
And what else? The booklet also provides some quilting designs and tips on binding your finished quilt. Have you ever tried binding with piping? Well you can find instructions in the booklet on how to do that.
I hope you enjoyed reading my review and that you found it useful. I will definitely keep my ebook handy for my next log cabin projects.
