September goals

Well, school  has started back this week for all 3 so I am guessing we will get back in a routine somehow. I am not sure that will give much more time to sew but one can hope! Work is also very busy and I will need to travel and be away for work a few times so that probably will not help. I don't think we'll manage to go and work on the house on evenings during the week so that will probably be our week-ends from now until... So just for fun, I have listed a large variety of projects and then if I have some time to sew, I will have choice! 

Quilting

1. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along - February, April, May, June, July & August blocks needed 

2. Dear Jane - hoping to finish row F... 1 block needed

3. Modern City Scape - hoping to catch up and finish this quilt along - 5 more blocks needed


4. Birthday blocks - hoping to catch up and continue with this quilt along

5. Farmer's Wife - 1 or 2 blocks?


6. Harry Potter - a few more blocks needed to finish this top


8. Tambo star - hoping to start this new quilt along, as I have already missed the boat...


Dressmaking / Sewing

1. Sew a piece of clothing for me: blouse, trousers, summer dress, Morgan jeans??
2. Sew one or 2 new PJ for A  &/or C
3. Sew some lingerie
4. Work on my Winter Coat

Bags / Accessories

1. Town bag by Grainline - cut and started early last year, I haven't touched it since... - decide whether to finish it or ditch it
2. Bag for A 
3. Zippered pouch for my daughter 
4. New bag - Vadon, Moonwake?
5. Accessories to give away (bookmarks?)
5. Weaver purse
6. Iris bag by Dunelace - this will be my One monthly goal

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. That was until I remembered a long forgotten UFO that was laying in a plastic bag in my cupboard. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan. Pillow card holders

I heard this week that my daughter's school were planning to sell small objects during the parents-teachers meetings to fund raise for the final years' school trips abroad. I was trying to think about what I could contribute that would be fast and easy to make but would still sell. They hadn't asked for any contributions but I figure I could help maybe. Looking through my patterns stash I remembered the Pillow Card Holder pattern from Sewing Seeds of Love which actually doesn't require any sewing at all. I had this one on my to-do list for a while and then dropped it. All it required really is cutting with the Cricut and then inserting 2 snaps. And that exactly what had stopped me so far... using my Cricut to cut the piece... so I finally got it out and of course it was much easier than anything I feared.  The pattern comes with the svg file so it just needs uploading onto the DS software and it is ready to go!
