WIP Wednesday

Today I was hoping to post some finished blocks and some in progress blocks and I will but they are not the ones I thought/wanted to have at this stage! I was hoping to be able to show you the blocks I made for the [4x5] Modern Mini-Bee which were due to be posted last Saturday, well I had a bit of a delay on this one. One of the problem of leaving it a tiny bit late... I knew I had all I needed in terms of fabric choices to make up my blocks and I was right... but what I forgot to check was whether I had enough. And of course, when I digged out my background fabric, I realised that I didn't have enough Kona Ash and it was far too late to get some on time to make my blocks. And when I tried to find some Kona Snow, which I know I have *somewhere* in the house, well I couldn't find it anywhere. I definitely have some but I don't have a clue where it has gone. With the building work in the house, things have moved around so much that I still haven't been able to find an

Hexie flowers

Image
I am running behind with my flowers for the Hexie Inchy Swap but I finished Dawn's ones when we travelled back last week-end. Hexie flowers are such a portable project that I usually carry some paper and fabric hexies in a small bag in handbag at all times. Dawn wanted dark red with a cream centre. I also received some gorgeous flowers from Joke a little while ago and from Cathy in Canada Now what about joining the hexie bee ? Come on and have fun with us! Celine

Monsters are on their way

Image
One of this month theme for the BBC swap was monsters. So I took inspiration from one of Mr Cars pyjama who is covered in monsters and aliens to make my 4-legs, 1-eye bitty block: I really like the rounded body and 4 legs so I made an army of monsters in an assortment of bright colours.

WIP Wednesday - more blocks and baking

I can't believe it has been 2 full weeks since I last posted anything, where does the time go? As you can guess it has been pretty busy here, probably why I had disappeared temporarily from my blog. I still trying to find a routine now that I am back at work and I must say it is far from easy to fit everything in, probably another reason why I only blog erratically at the moment. In the last week or so we also had birthday celebrations, which have kept me busy in the kitchen. Miss Strawberry Shortcake turned 4 this month so we had a "at home" party where I road tested my princess castle cake and then a "with friends" celebration at the local indoor play area with a Hello Kitty cake and a "family and friends" joint party back home in France at the week-end where I cooked for 27 and made another "princess castle" cake for Miss Strawberry Shortcake a football for Mr Cars who is turning 7 next month and a teddy bear for Miss Baby who

WIP Wednesday More bee blocks

Thank you to all of you who visited my blog during the Dare to Dresden blog hop, I am glad so many of you commented on my liberated Dresden or wavy Dresden. I will try to get back to everyone who is not a no-reply bogger individually but at the moment, I seem to have very little free time. Before I start something new/else, I have played catch up with my bee blocks over the last week or so, I am getting there but I still have a couple to finish off. Amelie sent us some yummy linen/Japanese fabric for us to make a mod mosaic block for her for Bee Europa 2012/2013 .
