Bee blocks

I have a lot less time that I would like to sew at the moment but at least the house is slowly getting back to some sort of normality. Miss Strawberry Shortcake finally moved into her pink princess room last week-end. She still needs some curtains but that will come in time! Our kitchen and bathroom have finally been tiled. Slowly, things are getting finished, which is nice. I just wish it was all done already!

Dare to Dresden - Day 5

Image
Welcome to England and thanks for stopping by! Make yourself comfortable while I share with you my Dresden adaptation. But before I share with you what I have made for the blog hop, I have a little confession to make. I signed up for the blog hop early in January (while still away on holidays actually and dutifully added the button to the side of my blog). Christine of Quilt Monster in my Closet  sent us an email with the plan for the hop and guided us through it around mid-January and then on Monday, she sent us this nice little reminder about our forthcoming spot on the hop. This is when I went into panic mode. I had all the best laid plans and was going to make my Dresden at the week-end ready to be blogged about before tonight.... apart that I completely forgot about it at the week-end and shortened a pair of curtains for Mr Cars instead. I had an idea of how I wanted to play with the blades since I signed up but I hadn't started to play yet... And yesterday I was out all e

More bee blocks

Our house is slowly getting back to some normality. Today has been a very good day and a big step forward, we now have 3 fully functional bedrooms. Mr Cars is sleeping in his new bedroom for the first time tonight. And the girls are now sleeping in the same room until the fourth bedroom is finished (hopefully by next week-end). The office/sewing room is slowly filling up as well. And also I should be moving things around and organising our stuff in my free time, I try to sew a little bit in the evening if I can, just to keep my sanity! So last time I played catch up with some of my Bee blocks.

New beginnings...

Today was a big day for me and all the family as I returned to work this morning after an extended maternity leave. I had a lovely 14 months off in total, which have been very busy and very exciting. Of course, the main event has been the birth of Baby Daughter but the last few months have also mainly been taken over by our house extension, which is still unfinished. We are slowly getting there as the decorators have now taken over to make everything looks pretty. Although the main bathroom is still not finished and all our belongings are still stored "wherever there is some space". I have started to take hold of my kitchen, the dining room is in use but not fully installed, the lounge is crowded again. The office/sewing room might be completely finished tomorrow. That would be a nice surprise! as that would mean I could start to set up my sewing space again!

Lots of mail

Image
In the last couple of weeks I have had a steady flow of lovely mail coming into the house. I had lots of blocks from swaps and bees that have come my way. Read on for a lovely eye candy! I have had some gorgeous little blocks from the Bitty Block Committee some fantasy figures from Jan, Susan and Karen and some snow people from Carol, Teri and Jan

Happy New Year

Image
I wish you all a Happy New Year, full of wonderful projects, new or old! I hope you had a great time over the holidays and are starting the year full of positives! We have had a break from the building work as we have gone away from the house and I must say it has been very nice! We woke up this morning with all the trees covered by a heavy blanket of snow and now the sun is shining! Postcard view from the window.
