Espritpatch

Yes it is.   I received a lovely parcel yesterday with my Mini Modern Round robin top. If you remember, I pieced the starting centre block in March this year and sent it off.   Because this was a secret swap, I hadn't see my block since I sent it off so I had absolutely no clue of what to expect... until I opened the lovely wrapped parcel yesterday to reveal...   well sorry to disappoint you but the grand reveal date is 19 November so you'll have to wait until then to see it... I am just teasing you for now... ;-) Celine

As usual I have quite a few projects cooking at the same time. This week I have a fat cloud that I need to shrink. I also have a fire flower, a piranha and a question mark started but I need to cut a few more colours to continue on those blocks for the Super Mario quilt-along I also have most of my fabric cut for my [3x6] bee blocks . I am making the star I showed yesterday. I have some cream/beige and orange fabric cut for the Mouthy Stitches swap . And I have some triangles ready to be put together to make a pillow for the X-factor pillow swap . And I need to finish my own Modern Minx Bee Block A range of projects on the go... My stars for the [3x6] Sampler Quilt Mini Bee are due out of my house by next Monday and of course none is ready yet. I picked a design a little while ago but haven't found a pattern for it so I decided to drew my own (with a pen and a ruler as I don't have a fancy program to do that for me). I cut the pieces of fabrics for my test block this week-end but I was scared to try to start sewing them. Anyway I took the plunge last night and I am pleased at how it has all turned out. OK it isn't perfect but not bad for a test block I think. Now I need to go and sew 6 variations of my star. I am linking this block to Jen for Building Block Tuesday . Celine

I travelled to London on the train yesterday for my first meeting with the London Modern Quilt Guild. It was a nice break from the day-to-day mummy life and it was great to meet a bunch of lovely talented ladies sharing the same love of fabric and all thing fabric that I have!! The show and tell was excellent with very varied projects. I really enjoyed my time there. I had taken my 4 Super Mario blocks to show and everyone was nice enough to brush over the seams who don't always match perfectly!  And on the train, apart from being distracted by some silly games on my new phone, I was busy hexi-ing away. I finished my 2 September flowers (yes I am a bit late) for Barbara and they will be flying over to her very soon. Celine

One more block for my Super Mario quilt! I have finished my jumping Mario last night. Cloud and the flower have not progressed much lately as I was paper-piecing-mad for the Basket Weave blocks but I should now be able to squeeze a row or two while working on my Bee blocks this week. I have finished another 2 Basket Weave blocks. These one are for Natalie who is doing a quilt for a little boy. One blue and red block and one red and blue block Now I can look at the mosaic for the October blocks! Celine

We are having some major building work done on our house at the moment to make room for our big family! This is the view in our back garden... I can't wait for the work to be finished, even though I must admit I am dreading the weeks to come when the extension will be linked to the house with all the disruption you can imagine... All for the better I hope. And the girls are battling yet another bug, temperature, earache, runny nose and disrupted nights of course. On a more positive note, I have finished one set of Basket Weave sets for September, yes I am running late... but I am getting there! Pam sent us some Essex linen and scraps of orange and aqua to use with our stash. She will have a stunning collection of very modern blocks I think.
