A new project

I have finished a few this month so I guess I am allowed to start one (or more!) new projects now. This one has a deadline so it should help to keep me focused! Another very close friend turned 40 earlier this year and I will have the great pleasure to spend some time with her soon so I thought it would be the perfect time to gift her a quilt. So far, I have just selected the fabric (all from my stash I am proud to say!)

and started the cutting of the strips (I still need to cut the background fabric)
So far I have sewn one set of strips together.... only 17 more to do - one block!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught.
