Progress on the new projects

This is my week 3 stitching in the Sashiko sampler with a lovely Persimon flower stitch

and I have been the lucky winner of the week 2 giveaway!

I have also made the flying geese blocks for the Summer Solstice Quilt-Along
And as incredible (for me) as it sounds, I have made a start on the teachers' gifts!
as well as taking apart the laptop bag completely! Now I need to use some interfacing, put the lining back in and deal with the straps

    Your flying geese look fantastic!!! Way to get them all pieced up :) Just a reminder to clip your dog ears, that will help to reduce bulk in the seams ;)

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Michele at the Quilting Gallery is organising a blog hop for the 4th anniversary of her site . Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
