Bento Boxes

In between all the travelling, I have stolen a few instants at my sewing machine here and there in the evenings to make a few bee blocks. I picked one of my favourite blocks for the [4x5] Modern Quilt Bee: The Bento Box block. After collecting pink and purple blocks with white background in the last couple of rounds, I changed my colour combo this round to make a quilt for Mr Cars's bed. His room is green and blue so I asked for green and blue blocks with either texty fabric or low volume fabric or white for the background. I made my test block with texty fabric for him.

An orange and aqua
An orange and light blue
A purple and yellow
A purple and turquoise
A rainbow block - although I am not sure about this one because of the lack of contrasts between the 2 fabrics...

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
