Finish Along 2014

I never participated before in the Finish Along but I am quite motivated to get things finished lately, even more so if they are UFOs. So hopefully by committing to a few finishes on my blog and sharing it with the other players, I should get motivated to finish a few of the items on my list.


The finish-along is organised by Katy at The Little Thistle this year and you can find all the details here.
So for Q1 2014, I would really like to finish

1 Cat Quilt - a few more blocks are needed to complete the top and then quilting and binding

2 Doll Quilt Swap - fabric cut

3 Sew Sew Modern Swap - pattern picked and fabric selected

4 Heart Quilt/cushion - need quilting (UFO)

5 Work bag for myself - started years ago but stopped because of a zip fear!

6 My Siblings Together 2 Bee quilt - I have most of the blocks, I need to piece the top, quilt and finish it!

7 September in the Hexagon - need to be quilted, top pieced.

8 PE Bag for Miss Strawberry Shortcake - fabric cut

9 Dance bag for Miss Strawberry Shortcake - fabric and pattern selected

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Michele at the Quilting Gallery is organising a blog hop for the 4th anniversary of her site . Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
