Hand sewing

We spent last week in the Alps under the sun and blue sky, enjoying the snow and the ski with good friends. 
We had a fantastic holiday week but a terrible journey there and back. We spent hours and hours in the car, which has allowed me to do lots of hand sewing, while hubby was stuck behind the wheel.
I finished my flowers for Michell (December blocks)

as well as a very belated block for Uschy for I love Lucy International

All the blocks are in the post to their new homes now :-)
and these are my first 3 blocks for 2015!

    Such pretty blocks...I saw that 15,000 cars were stuck in the snow. Hope that didn't include you!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
