Dear Jane F8

This one has been a very long time coming. I started it in June and I thought it would be finished easily and quickly over the summer but that didn't quite happen... I was working on it when travelling when I realise that I had cut 2 of the yellow triangles (around the middle square) too big so the  unit with the 2 blue triangles + yellow square couldn't be attached properly. I had to unpick and recut the triangles before sewing them back. Of course, this set me back for a while (I hate unpicking!) but I finally finished the block before the end of August. And once I finished I noticed that I had sewn the external strips to be mirror image from the original block, but never mind... this is my block! And this week I finally attached the sashing before adding the block to the rest of the row. One more F block missing. This block has 37 pieces and takes my DJ numbers to 144,8,0,3071 Linking to  Midweek Makers ,  Wednesday Wait Loss ,  Needle and Thread Thursday . Céline

September goals

Well, school  has started back this week for all 3 so I am guessing we will get back in a routine somehow. I am not sure that will give much more time to sew but one can hope! Work is also very busy and I will need to travel and be away for work a few times so that probably will not help. I don't think we'll manage to go and work on the house on evenings during the week so that will probably be our week-ends from now until... So just for fun, I have listed a large variety of projects and then if I have some time to sew, I will have choice!  Qui lting 1.   Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along - February, April, May, June, July & August blocks needed  2. Dear Jane - hoping to finish row F... 1 block needed 3. Modern City Scape -  hoping to catch up and finish  this quilt along - 5 more blocks needed 4. Birthday blocks -  hoping to catch up and continue  with this quilt along 5. Farmer's Wife - 1 or 2 blocks? 6. Harry Potter - a few more blocks needed to finish this top 8. Tambo s

August Furtle

Well, August is over by a few days already, so holidays is over, work holiday is over too and I hardly have anything to report really. I don't think I've turned my sewing machine on in August at all sadly 😢 All I have to show this month is a single Dear Jane block: F8, which I finally finished... not yet sashed or added to the row but at least the block is complete with its 37 pieces. A big part of my (free) time has been spent either tackling the overgorwn and unruly garden in our new house or tearing up wall paper and polystyrene off the walls. Much more to do on that front actually. Linking to August Furtle . Céline
