Diamond Ripples

September was my month for the Modern Minx Beginner Bee where we are making blocks from the Modern Blocks: 99 Quilt Blocks from Your Favorite Designers book. I picked Diamond Ripples block and asked my fellow bee to use a white background with a mixture of the yellow, lime, orange, light blue/aqua and red prints. I haven't received all my blocks yet but I can share with you the lovely blocks I have to date.
The first one I got was from Flaun
this one arrived from Connie
 and these 2 from Helen and her mum

this one was from Laura
and I still need to finish mine. I have all my HST sewn together, I "just need" to put them in a block now.

I should still be getting a few more but with those already I can see a lovely spring quilt.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
