Liberty love

I had a plan. And then I changed my mind and ordered some fabric. And then the fabric I ordered hasn't arrived yet so I decided I was time to make a start on my project for the Liberty of London Swap or #lolswap which is due early next month. I will be making a sewing machine mat for my partner with mini-charm squares,

My first idea was to use a handful of fabric and use strips. I then decided that maye it would be better to mix it more and ordered some charm packs but they aren't there yet and I don't want to leave it till the last minute (not sure what is wrong with me!) and decided to make a start this week-end.

So here is my selection of fabric for my mat. Hope my partner likes it!

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! Blog hop and a giveaway

I have written a blog for over 2 years now but started quilting about 10 years ago, mainly self-taught. I love fabric and my stash is probably too big for my needs, but can a girl really have TOO MUCH fabric? I don't think so! Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
