Patchwork of the Cross - a new bee starting soon

When I go to the office, I usually travel by train and I really like spending some of the journey hand sewing. I usually have some hexagons to make for a swap or another. And this week I finished my 2 hexies for Irene for Inchy Hexie Swap

I also discovered a new bee starting in November based on Lucy Boston's Patchwork of the Cross quilt. 
(I took this picture from the official Hemmingford Grey Manor website, this is not my quilt unfortunately!)

It is made of elongated hexagons (honeycombs) and the quilt is really beautiful I think. And Lucy Boston lived quite close to where I am at the moment, so really I couldn't resist, could I? You can read more here where I took the picture below

    Ohhh that's gorgeous! I am tempted by the bee... wasn't going to do any for awhile but that's something can easily do during breaks at work.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan. Blog hop and a giveaway
