Snowflakes

I commute to work by train every day so I always try to get off my phone (!) at some point and enjoy the free time to do some hand sewing, usually some hexies (that's only if I can have a seat in the train of course). Anywa this week, I finished my blocks for Get Your Hex On!

Amanda sent us some Christmas fabric and asked us to make some snowflakes for her.


She is planning a tree skirt I believe. How cute is this? I love how these blocks fit together.

    These are really cool! Love the fabric too. It's a brilliant idea for enjoying your train ride. I used to read a lot because I hadn't started quilting yet!

    I made a whole quilt top out of red and turquoise snowflakes. I miss having that EPP project. I am hoping to get it quilted so I can use it this holiday.

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
