Some Bee blocks, slowly catching up

This week-end has gone like a flash again. I am not sure what I did but I certainly didn't do as much sewing as I was hoping to do. I did manage to finish 2 bee blocks for the Simply Solids Bee (another one when I am playing catch up...) and finished my 2 blocks for Ange. They were not too difficult but I must say the center doesn't look as good as I was hoping. There are so many seams coming to the middle that it is hard to have it neat. Ange asked for some bright blocks so I hope mine are bright enough!


I also worked on my improv block for Amy which isn't quite finished yet but I am getting there. I am always a bit intimidated by improv blocks but I must say I quite like how my units have turned out so far.

    Those bright solids are really pretty! I can't imagine how difficult the middle seam must have been...

Welcome to my stop on the Hexie Blog Hop Be a Hexie Queen ! I am a hexie lover and always have an emergency supply of hexies in my bag for when I am on-the-go (which is actually very often) and when I first signed up for the blog hop, I thought I would show you a EPP (English Paper Piecing) hexie project. Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along

  Yes I know, another new project... but (!) this one is all about using my scraps, what's not to love. And the instructions come in German for the  Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along .  The first 3 blocks are made of rectangles and I used only scraps to make those (I can't really say I have made a dent in my scrap basket either actually...) I picked green as the focus colour for the blocks since this is the January colour for the Rainbow Scraps Challenge organised by Angela I joined the challenge years ago but hadn't participated in recent times. Of course it would be tempting to start yet another project but I think using my scraps for this quilt along in the set colour of the month is a safer plan.
